Uber x Paralympics Ireland – A Day in the Life of Damien Vereker

Earlier this year, Fearless Media had the opportunity to work with Uber and Paralympics Ireland on a documentary-style campaign following Irish Paralympian Damien Vereker.

The project focused on a day in Damien’s life as he navigates injury recovery while continuing his journey towards competing at the LA Paralympics 2028. Rather than creating a traditional branded advertisement, the goal was to tell an authentic, human story that highlighted resilience, discipline, and the reality of elite sport.

The Creative Approach

From the beginning, the focus of the piece was storytelling.

We wanted the audience to feel immersed in Damien’s routine — the early mornings, recovery sessions, training environment, and quieter moments in between. The campaign was designed to feel observational and cinematic, allowing Damien’s personality and determination to lead the narrative naturally.

The visual style leaned heavily into:

  • Documentary-style cinematography
  • Natural movement and real moments
  • Atmospheric b-roll
  • Minimal branding
  • Emotional storytelling over direct promotion

This approach helped create a piece that felt genuine while still aligning with Uber and Paralympics Ireland’s wider campaign message.

Production Process

The project was filmed across multiple locations, capturing Damien throughout his daily routine and rehabilitation journey.

Our production approach focused on staying lightweight and agile to preserve authenticity on the day. This allowed us to capture natural interactions and moments without interrupting the flow of Damien’s schedule.
